Prodeus is the latest in a long line of what we lovingly call “Doom clones”, but while many of its genre mates pride themselves on their retro sensibilities, Prodeus does something different.įor a start, it pitches its gore-spattered tent somewhere in the middle of what is past and what is present. They’re so consistent the term “old school” shouldn’t even apply. They’re always there, lurking in the shadows, ready to rock up with yet another wave of “old school shooter mayhem”. ![]() What’s even more fascinating is that, contrary to the norm, boomer shooters never seem to fade away.
